Yeah, it's been a while. We've been in and out of the house constantly and the summer heat makes me want to curl up in a corner and read. Or sleep. I've been doing that a lot. But I've also been cooking and working out and all the other lovely things that summer makes people want to do.
I'm looking forward to June. How about you? There's Father's Day, Dean's 1st birthday, Dean's baptism, my mom's birthday, our friend Elise's birthday, and the very first wedding anniversary of my friend Taylor.
If anything, it'll be festive. No wonder why I've been feeling so relaxed.
Some books I've read recently, and if you have any book suggestions I am all ears:
The Vintage Caper by Peter Mayle: Full of wine and food references for the foodie to appreciate. I felt myself drooling as they discussed their sleuthing over bouillabaisse and fennel-stuffed sea bass.
The Pigeon Pie Mystery by Julia Stuart: I'm still in the middle of it, but I love the characters. They're hilarious and oh so English.
P.S. The Pigeon Pie Mystery makes me think of this article I read on Cup of Jo. Ha!
Have a great weekend!
