A Faux Hawk with Curly Hair

There are some days when you want a little rocker running around. Then there are other days when your kid is already channeling an inner diva.

Today was one of those days. Thus, a faux hawk with medium length curly hair.

A great benefit, this hairstyle comes together easily and can tame bed head quickly. Here's how.

I started, quite honestly, with bed head. This, in a way, was an advantage because of the volume already achieved throughout because this hairstyle is all about harnessing that quality and directing it into a concentrated Mohawk along the top and down the back of the head.

This look is achieved by creating three ponytails in a vertical row down the head. You want to sides of the head to stay relatively smooth and for all the poof to collect on top.

Above, you can get a good look at the three separate ponytails and how they connect to form the faux hawk. And the rocker look is completed with sunglasses, which she herself requested. Finish it off with a curl spray such as John Frieda Frizz-Ease Dream Curls Curl Perfecting Spray. It brings curls back to life.
