Earth Love

Without realizing it, this week has been all about outdoor activities. To be consistent, I planted a bunch of flowers with Dianna yesterday. She still needs to "show Daddy pretty flowers."

Dianna blew bubbles on and off while we worked. Bubbles are always a Dianna and Nike (our dog) affair. He loves catching them as much as she does. Soon, Dean will join in too.

This weekend is Earth Day weekend, so there are a bunch of family-friendly activities going on around the Las Vegas and Henderson area. Chris is working tomorrow, but I'm hoping we can squeeze one of these in. Here are a few fun weekend kids' events that I know of:

UNLV GreenFest at the Thomas and Mack parking lot

Fresh52 Farmer's Market and the Prevent Child Abuse Nevada Event at Tivoli Village

Astronomy in the Park at Spring Mountain Ranch (Click on the PDF calendar for more info)

Super Summer Theatre Season Opener also at Spring Mountain Ranch

20th Annual Children's Festival at Winchester Cultural Center

Guided Gardens Walk and several art activities at the Springs Preserve

International Children's Festival at the Boulevard Mall

And if you can't get out to these events, garden with your kids, go on a hike, start recycling, start your own compost. Read them books or show them videos about Earth Day. Dianna liked this video a lot.

Have a good weekend!
